It boasts a little organic farm run by the locals, where fresh fruit and vegetables are grown. You can take a walk to the farm or explore the estates around you. There’s also a well manicured lawn and garden around the cottages. What’s better is that you can also bring your furry companions with you, since the property is pet friendly.<h3 class=" about-hotel__subtitle">How To Get Here</h3>The closest railway stations to Kotagiri are Mettupalayam Railway Station about 31 km away and Coimbatore Junction Railway Station which is 68.8 km away. The Coimbatore International Airport is the closest airport with a distance of 77 km. Kotagiri is better travelled by road. It is well connected to the neighbouring towns of Ooty (28 km) and Coonoor (23 km) by good roads lined with forests on either side. Frequent government buses are available from these towns. Taxis and auto rickshaws are also readily available.<h3 class=" about-hotel__subtitle">Rooms And Amenities Offered</h3>Nook and Cranny offer two one-bedroom cottages, which can comfortably accommodate 6 guests as a whole. Each cottage boasts a little living room, a cosy bedroom, a small verandah in the front, and an attached bathroom with hot water facility and free toiletries. A complimentary breakfast comes with every booking a well. Each cottage also comes with a kitchen with basic utensils, in case you do want to whip something up for yourself. </p><p>The homestay provides on-site amenities, including power backup, great housekeeping, a recreation area, a dining area, and adequate fire safety equipment. If you’re craving some local food, you can also request the staff at the homestay to cook a meal or two for you. They prepare delicious local dishes with farm fresh or local produce for you, against a reasonable charge.<h3 class=" about-hotel__subtitle">Activities On Site</h3>A number of fun activities are available at the homestay. The extensive tea estates attract some wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for the wild Indian Gaur or wild boar during your stay. A tour of the farm, orchards, or a wildlife trails through the Longwood Shola thickets can also be arranged. When you get back to the property after a long day of exploring, you can enjoy a lovely barbeque dinner in front of a roaring bonfire (request in advance).
